Nobody could have predicted what was about to take place, but September 24, 1991 turned out to be one of the most important days in the history of Rock music. Two of the most important albums of the 90’s were released. Nirvana’s “Nevermind” changed music forever. “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” changed the Red Hot Chili Peppers forever. Splat! celebrates the 25th anniversary breakthrough of two amazing and monumental albums.

The Philosophy of Radio Imaging – Existentialism

The existential approach to Radio Imaging: “Radio Imaging has no meaning, it’s up to us to give it meaning.”
OK, so that’s a broad paraphrasing of Jean Paul Sartre, “life has no meaning…etc, etc.”
So how does this apply to our chosen field of radio production?
Simple. Radio Imaging that just sounds cool but has no clear message or purpose is ultimately just branded clutter. Meaningless:(
So start with a message, know what you want to communicate and make sure you do it clearly and consistently. Start with good writing. That’s it, that’s all. Once you assign a meaning to each piece of production you will communicate your message and you will achieve Radio Imaging with purpose. To recap: Step 1: Define Message. Step 2: Start producing. Meaning:)
Next up: Imaging Zen!!!
Because you can NEVER have too many radio imaging samples;)
KICK IT with Country Splat!
Summer of Splat! still sizzles, but we’re already planning for fall…here’s what we’re working on.
Freshness Counts…and not just in the produce aisle!

Produce and produce…get it? Yeah, sorry, bad audio puns are the worst. Anywayyyyyy….When it comes to your station’s radio production keep it fresh, because a promo or sweeper can burn pretty quickly to a listener’s ears. Variety goes a long way, too. Stations with a spectrum of sounds and styles are always more engaging and interesting to the audience. So at Splat! we’re always busy, constantly producing a variety of fresh new imaging for our stations. Hey, kick back with a quick snack and check out the demos below.
